Beautiful trees of earth

makes me wonder

What beautiful trees of Jannah are like

Within reach always,

Its' fruits

The ones that we sowed in this Dunya

Ripe now, in Jannah

Ready to be devoured

Again and again

Just wish and it is

O what Losers will be those losers

The ones that will Lose Jannah

May we not be among them

And gain Izzah

The Izzah of Jannatul 'alaa

Winner- Top score

In the book of deeds

Lets not forget that kitab

that will be laid open

On that Mighty Day

For all to see

Hopefully we will be

on the fast track to cross

The Sirat-Bridge over the hell fire

and onto the gates, opening to Everlasting Bliss

Fruits waiting to be eaten

Of a special Kind

Sowed in this Dunya

This Temporary world

The investment

Of the best kind..

Beautiful trees of Earth

Makes me wonder

Of my Beautiful trees

In Jannah, Bi'ithnillah

 Maybe

I need to write poetry

To enjoy the beauty again

To feel the words

Pass gently, swiftly

Gracefully, graciously

From my fingers onto-

the blank white canvas

So that I could capture with words

what Images can't

Gratitude for blessings,

Passion for my values

Nobility and all that is Good- that Is Khair

The Journey is a beautiful one

So I am not taking pictures with a camera

Let me capture them with words

that come into existence,

seeps through my veins,

becomes a part of me

and accompanies me on this journey- perhaps till it's end

How beautiful is a life spent

in the remembrance of Allah

How beautiful His gifts

that make me wonder-

Is there more?

How wonderful the blessings

that makes me ask

"If dunya is so beautiful, then-

What would Jannah be like?"

Yes there's the tiredness from labour and trials,

but even in them

there is beauty, there is reward

Maybe I need to write poetry

Or maybe-

Maybe, I just need.

You think you can read me,

You can't

You think you know me,

You don't

You think you see me,

You are blind

You think you have heard my story,

You were deaf

You don't know, the depths of the fabrics

Woven inside me

The intricate complexities

Of my being

The nuanced textures

Of my mind

So don't assume

You've got me all figured out

Don't put me inside a neat box that fits

And label it using your labelmaker

The world's borders are manmade.

So don't draw a neat line around me.

I'm not created by a Man,

I was created by The All Knowing, The Wise

So Don't put limits on me

That He hasn't

Not everything, needs to go somewhere

Sometimes

Things can soar the heavens,

Without needing to land anywhere,

But ascend and reach the highest

Heaven

And there will meet

By His permission

All those you thought

Lived in boxes made by you

All those without

an anchor

Weighing them down

to this

Temporary world

By His permission

By His permission.

Meet Blackie. She was out for her usual walk. And I happened to be out for my unusual clothes washing. She is not that friendly with me. We have a very formal relationship. So I asked my grandmother if there's anything that I can feed her.

My grandmother handed me some left over jalebi. And then began my attempt at winning Blackie's heart. I fed her bit by bit and appreciated her for every good catch of the jalebi bits.

But then it was soon time for her to go back to her abode. So I led her to it using the same jalebis as a treat for every act of obedience. And then my grandmother suggested that I empty the jalebis into her food bowl. But since we have to be careful as her effects are najas (impure) I did so carefully and slowly.

Suddenly I felt pain shoot through at points on my feet! Ants!

But then I didn't want the jalebi bits to miss blackie's food bowl either.

So bearing the twinges of pain at different points of my feet, I quickly emptied the jalebis into her bowl. But most of them missed!!
And fell right into the ants
gathering.

I ran quickly to the nearby tap to give relief to my feet.

After a few minutes of soothing relief, I continued with the task of washing my clothes.

But then I noticed two crows nearby. They were curiously and yet cautiously nearing Blackie's place. I am not sure what happened next, whether the crows ate the jalebi or not, but what struck me was the fact that jalebis that my family enjoyed, just a few days back was first devoured by a dog, then ants..and perhaps these two little birdies too.

What we would immediately think as an 'accident'. Me dropping the jalebis, is in fact a blessing for these ants in search for provision.

What we think of as 'leftover' is in fact a delight and treat for a lonely little dog.

How perfect you are, O Ar Razzaq, The provider. How perfect you are, O Al Wahhab, The Bestower of gifts . We testify you alone are the true Provider. We testify that none is worthy of worship except you.

Note: Blackie was a guard dog at my home in India during my college days. She passed away a little after I returned to Qatar. She was a very brave, faithful and loyal creation of Allah. I loved her a lot. The picture doesn't do justice to her. She wasn't as scary as it seems in it. She was adorable. Had really bright, loving eyes.

P.S. For those knowledgeable about ahadith, she was not a shaitan. I know. I checked personally😂

 Poetry.

Why do you evade me.

All I need is a few words

Strung together to make my heart free

Why do I pressure myself to rhyme

When all I need is some me-time

No, I will stop with the silly matching syllables

And start with my heart's troubles

Has my heart not reflected over the past year?

Wasn't there in it  inspiration, glory, and fear?

Oh so my methods don't have madness at all

With a cue, the words will fall

Now enough of speculation

More of my heart's callouses and it's admiration

But maybe that's for another poem

For today let's celebrate the birth of one, and it's triumphs

So here I am winding up at last

A poem that took 9 months, boy that was fast

See you another day

With irony freshly served, at say.

Tata buh bye farewell

With an assalamualaikum I leave you to on my words dwell

As I look at my vanity box,

and see the hues of pink and white

the delicate makeup

something in me feels happy

feels fulfilled,

It doesnt have to come in pink and white

it could be green and blue

or flaming red

it is to see beauty

and smile at it

It is to hold the whole world inside of you

close to your  being

Gently

from breaking apart

It is to comfort the sad

be gentle with the young

and give happiness to the sick

Sure it is flowers blooming

but it is also the graying leaves

of autumn

because she can find beauty

even in the melancholy

feel the sweetness

even in Pain

It is a gift from God himself

this feminine touch

As I look at my vanity box

I see hues of pink and white

I feel something happy inside

And then as I look at the mirror

I see hues of courage and strength

I still feel something happy inside

**Something I penned to capture my lethargic mood**

I am Lost in the speed of Life

Cant find myself

Vaguely aware of some goals

That will come and go

on it's own

Accomplishing things

Yet Sleeping through it all

Not Awake inside

or Outside

Fulfillment, meaning

Love

All lost, in the foggy chaos

of a sleepy soul

until, that inner fighter

lights up a candle

and I jerk up awake

Eyes watery

Awake now

But tired

Trying to add wood

to the small flame

waiting for it to turn

into the fire

that will fuel

the warrior

the meaningful chaos.
You go through life
Not knowing how beloved you are.

You go through life
Not knowing how precious you are

You don't know which kind word

Earned His Love

You don't know which repentant tear

Covered you in His protection

You don't know which dua, singling Him out, in pure unadulterated Tawhid

Earned you His immense favour

You are His.

You belong to Him
 You will return to Him

And in that sweet meeting

You will discover

Just how much

You are worth to Him
It's Raining in MES

Could there be, anything more peaceful

Than the mercy of Allah

Pouring down

In the valleys where my childhood

Was shaped, was formed

It's Raining in MES

As teachers I adored

Turns into adoring students

The bliss of life, quietly makes its way

Into my daily routine

And I thank Allah

Not just for the rain

But for the chance to be nourishment

For those little flowers

Waiting to bloom

In all its glory

It's Raining in MES

As the poet in me awakens

As peace and mercy envelopes

Its Raining in MES

Alhamdulillah
In the quiet wretchedness of it all

When faith has worn out

All you hope is for mercy

Knowing you don't deserve it

And yet you hope

For that beautiful fairytale

For the magical ending

Because you are not the one writing the story

You hope from Him, the Most Generous

So you take all your wretchedness

You bare it to him

And ask him,

With hope

for that little something more

for that little crown

of glory

Yes you

this wretched, downtrodden you

and He covers it all

in His soothing Mercy

Because you finally returned

Home at last

after a dark voyage of heedlessness

And then

He Gifts

His crowning jewels

and you

Yes you

The Wretched, Downtrodden you,

is crowned

is Honoured

Tell me O Soul,

Could there be any greater than Him?

Anybody in need of a listening ear for today sister, I am there, I am there.

Anybody in need of a brain for today sister, I am there, I am there

Use me sister, I am there, I am there.

Need me sister, I am there, I am there.

I can be the plastic wrapper

To your chocolate

The lining in your bed cover

The warmth that comforts you

The shoulder you cry on

Use me sister

Need me sister

I am there

I am there

You need a break from the baby? I am there, I am there

Just a hand with that recipe? I am there, I am there

A companion for your kids? I am there, I am there

Someone to share your worries with over a cup of coffee? I am there, I am there

Anybody need a listening ear for the day sister? I am there, I am there.

I am your Muslim Sister.

Use Me, Sister, I am there, I am there.

Need me Sister, I am there, I am there.

As I walk lightly on this earth,

Carried by the unseen forces of nature, of qadr

Life pulsating in my veins, just like hope

I imagine the angels of Ar Rahman, surrounding me

With every crisp heartbeat, inching closer to my destination

I whisper the prayers of longing and relief

Living my dreams every day

Unwrapping the gifts of Al Wahhab

Delicately given, for the heart that searches

Searches and searches and then aches

Until it presents itself..a bouquet of reminders

Beautiful words from a beautiful friend

Or cool water on a hot summer's day of fasting

Or a smile from a sister, a look of love, a compliment

The stillness of the night sky with a gentle breeze, enveloping me in serenity

The gifts of Al Wahhab, so that I may turn

Back to him with gratitude, with love, with longing

So that I may turn, yet again and again

The gift of life wrapped as though in a beautiful flower

From it blooms the sweet steps and breaths

Longing to reach the real life, the one of eternity

Because no matter how sweet, this dunya is prison for the believer

In Jannah will I bloom in sha Allah, in sha Allah

The gentle breeze lifted the edge of her niqab. She silently held it in place.

The laughter and glee of children playing was in the air as she walked aimlessly.

The smell of a nearby barbecue greeted her fasting frame. It was a Monday.

Walking was her solace. She could walk for hours and just be in her own world. Reflecting on the creation of Allah and His greatness.

And then suddenly, quiet pain seeped through her broken heart and filled her being.

She felt fragile as the tears found its way to her eyes. She closed them and let them flow gracefully.

Thankfully, no one would suspect that behind those layers of fabric were streams of tears.

For a stranger with a more careful eye, they might notice the glistening of her eyes, almost like pearls, and wonder if she wore contacts.

At that moment, the author wishes some kind stranger materialised and noticed her sad eyes. Felt her pain. Offered her a smile and comforting words. Maybe tempted her to break her fast with some hot cappuccino. She deserved it thoroughly.

But the strong, it seems, aren't made that way.

As the pain pulled at her heartstrings again, she repeated these words

"Allahumma la sahla illa ma ja'ltahu sahlan wa Anta ja'lul huzna iza shi'ata sahla"

'O Allah there is no ease except that which you made easy, and you make the difficulty, if you wish, easy'

She felt her burden lighten and she slowed her pace.

Mercy.

She realised with a pang that's what these tears were.

She remembered the hadith of her Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) when tears made its way to his eyes and a sahabi questioned it.

Narrated Anas bin Malik:
We went with Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) to the blacksmith Abu Saif, and he was the husband of the wet-nurse of Ibrahim (the son of the Prophet). Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) took Ibrahim and kissed him and smelled him and later we entered Abu Saif's house and at that time Ibrahim was in his last breaths, and the eyes of Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) (p.b.u.h) started shedding tears. `Abdur Rahman bin `Auf said, "O Allah's Apostle, even you are weeping!" He said, "O Ibn `Auf, this is mercy." Then he wept more and said, "The eyes are shedding tears and the heart is grieved, and we will not say except what pleases our Lord, O Ibrahim ! Indeed we are grieved by your separation."

She felt a warmth as more tears made its way, but this time, these were tears of gratitude.

"Ya Rabb"

She quietly whispered.

"My King" she whispered again.

"My King who knows my dreams. My King who knows my pain, My King"

She made her way past bushes adorned with white flowers. She made her way past swings. Until she reached it. The water fountain.

There, just around the corner was an isolated bench.

She lightly placed herself on it.

"My King, My Rabb, The Most Merciful of those who show mercy"

She felt the sweetness of this connection. This dua. As the pain in her heart found words again.

"Heal my wounds and grant me happiness and peace, Ya Mujeeb, Ya Shafi, Ya Jabbar"

She felt something cool and light trickle down through her heart and into her being. It was as though these words were the balm for her stinging pain.

The wound still pulsated with hurt. But it was a beautiful pain. One that consistently reminded her of the nature of this dunya.

Temporary.

And one that made her long for her place in Jannah. Where she will be free from all worries, all the hurt. Where it will be all beauty without pain. With unimaginable joy.

And in that, she took pleasure. In that, she lived.

Nusaybah will live. Will strive. Will survive.

In fact, she will thrive. In sha Allah.

~Inna lillahi wa Inna ilayhi rajioon

To Allah we belong and to Him we return.

This is not going to be boring, hopefully.

Let's dive right into it.

I love science.

I love learning about the miraculous nature of the universe.

Paradox? I think not.

There are so many things that I recall learning in school and college, that resonated with me on a really deep- almost spiritual level.

This series is aimed at revisiting my fascination with those subjects, and bringing to table the aspect that we all seem to forget when learning about the world-

It's Creator.

This is aimed at exploring those laws of physics and chemistry, and maybe even social science (Maybe not, to say safe). And also to make myself put to good use the knowledge of those subjects, in sha Allah.

Let's try to find spirituality in computer science (My major in college)

I remember multiple things from school that may awaken our inner sense of wonder..and cause us to reflect with jaws dropped.

Some things that I can recollect off the top of my head-

Organic Chemistry
Isotopes
Isomers
Nuclear fission
Engineering Physics
Lasers

And much much more- time to hunt for some school textbooks, and explore these areas one by one!

Follow me on this journey in sha Allah!

Beautiful houses, neatly arranged

Tall date palm trees, what a wonderful exchange

Little rain during the months of winter

O land you give us back so much better

Sweet gel fruit, with you we break our fasts

Lines of your mother trees, as the traffic goes past

Silent beaches with untreachorous waters

In you we played till sunset, from past noon quarter

And you O corniche, you magical blue kingdom

Black at night, peace you give on walks that make us soar with freedom

And O athan, the call to prayer, aloud you sound

5 times a day, inviting worshippers to be success bound

And O beautiful parks, in you we played as children

Getting to the swings first, and then sharing with brothers and sisters, different

And O shopping havens, you give us a place for our eyes to feast, for our kids to wander

In you we walk, from you we buy, making sure to not squander

And O open skies, we gaze at you and think of dreams and limitless possibilities

Feeling the rays of heat and commuting daily for our responsibilities

O land, grateful to Allah are we for you,

May He grant you more that is just and true

A few years ago one of my close friends converted to Islam.

It was an enchanting experience, for many reasons.

The first of them being, the setting.

It was in an infamous entrance coaching centre, known for its authoritative, almost dictator like-head.

For the purpose of our story, let's call my friend Bella.

Bella grew up in Saudi Arabia. She was Christian, but was exposed to Islam and texts on it from an early age.

I arrived at the coaching centre's hostel with naive optimism about staying away from home and
being trained to ace entrance exams to engineering colleges.

Sitting on my bed, I noticed the girl next to me, petite, with a pony tail.

I greeted her cheerfully and went on to have the most connecting conversation that I had in a while.

Always on a spiritual high when it came to new experiences,  I felt something inside in me stir. Call it intuition, call it an out of place feeling, I felt a special pull towards this girl that logic couldn't explain.
In our hostel room, that housed 6 girls altogether, we became close to a third person, a tall intelligent girl from kasarghode, who grew up in Dubai.

It was an NRI (Non Resident Indian) focused training "camp". (Call it a millitary camp if you may).

As a few days went by, I talked to Bella about religion. Initially she evaded the topic with references to Budhism. But later on, I found her curious about Islam and Qur'an.

She expressed her intense interest in the religion and explained that she had read books about it. If I remember correctly, she even owned a translation of the Qur'an.

Our discussions about the Deen grew more intense as the days went by.

One day, during the hostel "study time" Bella writes me a note, expressing her fears about coming to
Islam. She asked me to destroy it after reading.

But the sentimental part of me wanted to hold on to it as a memento. And I asked her permission to preserve it.

Hesitatingly, she agreed.

I carefully placed it between the pages of my notebook.

Next day, I arrive in class and sit at my usual spot next to Bella in the front.

It was the beginning of chemistry class, but the authoritative dictator head that I mentioned earlier is making rounds. He comes in. I am busy writing something as the students stand up out of respect. I absent mindedly stand up when I realized that he had paused mid stride, halfway down the classroom.

And then with a booming voice he says "Passing notes in class!"

And he picks up a blue piece of paper with a very familiar handwriting.

My heart reached my throat as I recognized it.

Without thinking twice I whisper
"Tawakaltu alallah" (I put my trust in Allah)

I had no clue how that note fell out of my notebook and onto the floor.

And reached the terrifying hands of the head.

He reads out loud from the paper.

"The Hostel food is very bad"

The students start laughing at this.

"What? That doesn't make sense" I thought. Then I realized that he was just mocking the NRI students' lack of patience at the chance he got.

He then mentions a few other complaints to garner a few more chuckles.

At the front of the classroom now, he then starts properly reading the paper, soon turning silent. I see him mouth the word "Islam".

He grew grim as he read it, and then, out of nowhere, I get the courage to stand up and say

"Sir, that's mine"

He looks up, and suddenly his anger changed to mild humility. If there was a miracle, this was one!

"Oh, it's yours?" He says politely, in great contradiction to his character.

"It was written in hostel" I clarified in a quiet voice
"Oh it was written in hostel" he repeats after me, then silently, he hands over the piece of paper.

I noticed Bella's face next to me, petrified.

We got saved.

But this was bound to be a topic of discussion among our peers. This was the next issue.

As the head left and our classes resumed, we were still stuck in what just happened.

That's when the speakers started cackling with an announcement from the head. He named 4 girls who had made a racket in the hostel the night before. They were in trouble.

Both Bella and I heaved sighs of relief as we realized that our peers attention were refocused.
Alhamdulillah

That's how beautifully Allah managed our affairs that day.

Bella relives that day as a clear sign from Allah for her. How else could such dramatic events that had the potential to end badly for the both of us be contained in such an appropriate manner?

Bella ended up taking the shahadah a few days after, with me and the other girl as her witness. In the darkness of the early morning prayer time, before sunrise. We snuck up to the topmost floor of the hostel amidst drying laundry and repeated

"Ash hadu alla ilaha illallah Ash hadu anna Muhammadan rasulullah"

"I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah and I bear witness that Muhammad (pbuh) is His messenger"

And for Bella, being a Christian, added

"I bear witness that Jesus is His slave and messenger"

Allahu Akbar.

O dhikr of Allah

I have tasted the sweetness of your nectar

And yet why does the birds of heedlessness steal you away from me

I have felt your sweet presence

Leaving the taste of nourishment for my tarnished heart

And yet why does the bankrupt apothecary of dunya take you away from me

So glittery and beautiful, dunya, you fail to impress

You fail to impress

But O dhikr of Allah

Your sweetness is felt like the breath of a newborn

It is the gift of life

For a dead heart

SubhanAllah when you fall

Alhamdulillah when you feel relief

Astaghfirullah when your mistakes overwhelm you

In sha Allah for the future, unseen

Under the control of Allah, the All Seeing

The darkness of the unseen overpowering

But the delight of knowledge and tawakkul embracing

Comforting, like a gentle mother

Until the madness of the dunya breaks in again

And you get the Shifa of understanding with depth,

You get the company of scholars,

Whom Allah blessed with words of knowledge

With words of cure for the heart

Because what the heart longs

Is for its diseases to be cured

O dhikr of Allah

I will fight for you again, like the warrior in me

Because what could be worse than death without you.

When you think of making dua, what do you usually have in mind?

It's probably something huge isn't it?

"O Allah give me jannah"

Allah is indeed *Al Mujeeb* (The one who responds)

But do you ever think that the one whom you ask for Jannah can also provide you with-

You guessed it right.

Diet pepsi.

What I am about to narrate may seem like  quite an ordinary tale void of adventure, but it was one of the most miraculous experiences for me, personally. And I hope you can see the miracle in your own diet pepsi as well.

So my tale begins on an ordinary night out with my family. We were on our way back home from shopping, chilling in the car, when my soul began to crave for that can of artificial sweetness.

Diet pepsi.

So like any normal child, I requested (*cough* demanded*cough*)  that my father buy me one.

And guess what happened?

He refused.

It was getting late.

My soul cried out in protest. If my inner feelings at that time had words, it would sound something like this.

"But I MUST have it! I haven't had it in sooo long"

I tried asking him again.

Guess what happened?

He refused. Again.

But this time, my inner feelings found words. Not just any words, but these ones.

"O Allah, give me diet pepsi!"

Yep. I actually made that dua. Thanks to training of learning Asma ul Husna(The Most beautiful names of Allah), Al Mujeeb in particular, I found myself making dua to Allah for something as small as diet pepsi. It is said that the salaf used to make dua for shoe laces if they broke.

And no, I didn't get the diet pepsi that night. Sorry to disappoint you.

And I forgot about that dua.

I went home, diet pepsi less.

Guess what happened next day?

My brother asks me (He NEVER does this) for some cash so he can buy snacks. I agree on the condition he buys something for me as well.

And in a hurry I tell him:

"Diet Pepsi"

He comes back, the diet pepsi is in front of me now. It's open. I take refreshing sips.

Nothing. Still nothing.

And like a strike of lightning, everything falls in place.

This is no ordinary diet pepsi!!

It's an answer to my dua!

My heart melted.

My Rabb responded to the silliest dua imaginable.

But that's the catch, it wasn't silly for him.

He paid attention to it and gave me a diet pepsi that I took delight in!

Alhamdulillah! Allahu Akbar!

That was soo loving of Him. I felt my imaan rise tremendously.

I felt more eager to make Duas and had even more hope in the Duas that seemed huge.

In duas for jannatul firdaus, where I can have rivers of pepsi, in sha Allah.

So make dua for that mountain dew, 7 up or whatever your favourite fizzy drink is. If you don't like any, you still get the drift.

As for the peeps going

"But you basically ordered the diet pepsi, how can it be from Allah?"

I have a few questions

Who created me and my brother and has control over us both?

Allah.

Who put the thought in my brother's head to  buy snacks?

Allah

Who made me absent mindedly say "Diet Pepsi" ?

Allah

Who gave me the money to buy diet pepsi?

Allah

Who made it possible for the diet pepsi to be at the grocery shop?

Allah.

So alhamdulillah and Allahu Akbar!

Oh what to speak of the book of Allah

Light upon light from the one true ilah

From among its gems is this bright one

A light between two Fridays, if you recite it then, you would have won

Beginning with a story of wonder

For three hundred adding nine years, did the youth slumber

He is able to do all things is your lesson

When you seek refuge with Him, miracles He will make happen

Firmness in the truth in the youth is a blessing

So when young, the pleasures of the world, stop chasing

Then comes the story of the boastful one, full of delusion

Never will his wealth end was his illusion

With pride he talked about being greater to his companion

But Alas! There came upon his gardens a destruction unlike any in the dominion.

Don't disbelieve in the resurrection

That's your second lesson

The tale of knowledge is what comes third,

I will not give up traveling until I find what I seek, from Musa (a.s) it was heard

Until he found what he sought

To have patience, he was taught

Three mysterious actions

First In a ship a defect was made

Second "An innocent boy you have killed," Musa (a.s) said

Third an inhospitable town's wall was rebuilt free of charge

Musa's (a.s) impatience now growing large

An explanation was given by Al Khidr for each

First a King who seized by force every ship, did he teach

By rebellion will oppress the boy his pious parents was second

A better child Allah will replace, closer to mercy , on that he depends

Third a treasure beneath the wall he wanted to protect

It belonged to two orphan boys, righteous was their father, so did Rasulullah (s.a) regret

That Musa (a.s) could not have more patience

So this is the explanation, fascinating equations

Now comes the story of Dhul Qarnain

Established on the earth he was, power from Allah did he gain

Travelling and coming upon a people

"We are oppressed by a people given to evil"

Asking for his help and protection from them all

Dhul Qarnain with the help of men built a wall

"None can scale it except for when the promise of my Lord will come to pass"

Ya'juj and Ma'juj, a sign of the day of judgement, on the earth they will fill up and trespass

So goes the stories in this bright one

If the oceans were ink, the words of your Lord would not end is another lesson

A light between two Fridays, if you recite it, you would have won.

When you sigh with the heaviness of monotony

Remember that there is the sweet release of jannah

Stop searching for the glitter in the dunya

Start finding your treasures in His words

Truly in the remembrance of Allah do hearts find rest

Rest so sweet, it's stillness like the rock glaciers of the poles

Blanketing in the bliss of peace

Where else will you find your target, o restless one

Where else will you escape to from the clutches of your own insignificance

Because with your Lord, you are something

Something a little more

With your Lord you are moving, towards something definite and noble

With your Lord, it's different,

There is no confusion, no chaos

It's your Lord who sees you

The whole of you

In your incomplete completeness

It's your Lord who gives you

Richness so filling, the water overflowing from its brims

No pettiness of mundane

Just home

Like a traveler in this world,

Like a stranger, even

In this temporary abode

Then in servitude, you will find glory

In the mundane, you will find your kingdom

Your jewels will be adhkar

Your throne will be niyyah

Transforming the petty

To the magnificent

Your reign will be remembered

By the winged messengers of your Lord

So rule with might and power

Not monotonous is the life of an abidh

Rule, for a better kingdom awaits with your Lord.
